Daytona, Fla. (January 27, 2012) – Richard Petty and Petty’s Garage, LLC announced today that the Petty’s Garage Performance Tour has launched at the Rolex 24 Grand AM at Daytona International Speedway.
For decades, the fans who had crowned Richard Petty the “King of NASCAR” have equally revered Petty’s Level Cross, NC garages and shops, in which for more than 60 years, the Legendary Family has turned out winning stock car after winning stock car.
“The Petty’s Garage Performance Tour is our opportunity to take Petty’s Garage from Randleman, NC, where it all started for me and my family, right to our fans at select events nationwide,” Petty explains. “Essentially, the Garage is hitting the road and being brought to the consumer. We’ll be making close to 25 stops around the country and visiting with over a million people. We’re looking forward to connecting with enthusiasts and fans over our shared love for high performance vehicles!”
Along with the sponsors, Continental Tire and Automotive Lift Institute, Inc., the tour will be stopping at various Grand AM races, Goodguys events, Fun Ford Weekends, and many major car shows. There will be a walk through exhibit with interactive videos. Visitors will be able to purchase Petty’s Garage Signature Parts and merchandise. Key Staff members will be on site at each event to answer questions and talk shop, including Greg Steadman, general manager and former NASCAR crew chief for Petty Enterprises from 2000 to 2006. “The Performance Tour is a great opportunity to reach our fans and is the beginning of a new chapter for Petty’s Garage,” commented Steadman. “The tour is scheduled through 2014, and we hope to keep the momentum going for years to come.”
